ABSTRACT
The focus of this presentation is on modeling outcome variables when more than two ordered categories.
Ordinal logistic regression , unlike polytomous regression , takes into account any inherent ordering
of the levels in the disease or outcome variable, thus making fuller use of ordinal information. This
presentation addresses use of ordinal logistic regression analysis in clinical research, the proportional
odds assumption, the concept of proportional odds ratio, interpretation of results of proportional odds
ratio and finally illustration with real data.
