             Bank, CARE, PATH, JHU-SPH, ICMR (Govt. of India) etc. His recent research interests were focused
             on maternal and child health and program evaluation. He published 110 research papers in leading
             medical journals and guided nearly 40 students for MD and PhD degrees. After his superannuation, he
             also worked on some senior teaching positions, such as Dean – Faculty of Medicine, Integral University,
             Lucknow, Principal - Hind Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and Vice Chancellor – Texila American
             University, Georgetown, Guyana, South America.
             He served as the National President of the Indian Public Health Association (1998-1999) as well as that
             of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (2009-2010). He was Chief Editor of the Indian
             Journal of Public Health and was recently, member of Advisory Board of Indian Journal of Community
             Medicine and Indian Journal of Community Health. In recognition to his academic contributions, he was
             awarded Fellowships of  Indian Association of  Preventive and Social Medicine, Indian Public Health
             Association and Fellowship of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS). Most importantly,
             Professor Srivastava has been an active member of the International Epidemiological Association in past
             2 decades. He has served as Regional Councilor of IEA for South East Asia Region (2008 – 2014), IEA
             Secretary (2014-2017) andlastly, as IEA-WHO Liaison (till his last breath).
             Professor Srivastava had several exemplary  qualities.  A man of great sense of responsibility  and
             commitment, he had  a high order  of integrity. Always sincere  to the cause  and  loyal  to his duties,
             Professor Srivastava wasalways respectful towards his friends and colleagues, particularly to his seniors.
             Very helping to his students & friends, Professor Srivastava also had a handsome personality.He was a
             thorough gentle man with many rare qualities.
             The ISMS will always remember Professor Srivastava for his enormous contributions towards its growth
             & development and for his love and appreciation of statistics in medicine. His unexpecteddeparture has
             caused a vacuum in the ISMS family.We pay our sincere tributes to him. May his soul rest in peace!
