Development of Organic Villages Cluster

e have seen the negative impact of chemical
fertiliser and pesticides. Indiscriminate use
Wof these fertilizers has badly affected the
soil health.It acidifies the soil and kills the beneficial
soil organisms. These fertilizers do not add up to the
soil and do not contribute anything to enhance soil
fertility. They help produce fruits and vegetables with
lower nutritional value and less flavour. Repeated
use of chemical fertilizers causes toxic chemicals
which ultimately find their way into the fruits and
vegetables that are grown. Consumption of these
foods gives birth to incurable diseases. Moreover, it
pollutes the environment contaminating both air and Vermi-compost Tank
water due to leeching of chemical residues.
Keeping these things in view, Divyayan KVK
has already converted its demonstration farms
into organic demonstration farms and with the
sponsorship of NABARD and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP)
programme, the KVK has initiated movement
through a Project Called “Development of Organic
Cluster”. During the last reprorting period (2018-19)
three villages Burhakocha, Dhurleta and Piprabera of
Angara Block covered under the project supporting
90 families were converted into organic villages
where all the farmers have now adopted organic Vermi-compost Tank
method of cultivation.
During the current reporting period (2019-20),
organic cluster have been developed in Nagrabera,
Simratoli, Gundlitoli of Angara Block (each of 50
acres) undertaken with the financial support under
TSP Programme (KVK).

Following infrastructural supports were provided to
farmers of these above said villages
