MESSAGE

It gives me immense pleasure to extend a warm greeting to all the delegates who will be gathering at the
Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi for the 39 annual conference (ISMSCON-2021) of
th
the Indian Society for Medical Statistics. The Indian Society for Medical Statistics (ISMS) was established
in 1983 and started its journey from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Over the past 39 years, the activities of the
society have expanded in many domains of theoretical, methodological and applied areas of statistics in
medicine.
This conference is hosted in The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi,
Jharkhand, India is a referral hospital for the state of Jharkhand and also the nearby states. RIMS
has hundreds of permanent scientists, researchers, medical doctors, nurses, paramedics, PhD,
under and post-graduate students. The RIMS is part of an Autonomous Institute under the Govt.
of Jharkhand, Ranchi, Jharkhand, which includes 33 departments. The conference will be held
completely on virtual platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic from 9 to 11 December 2021. A Pre-

conference workshop is also organized on 8 December, 2021 focusing on the theme, “Application
th
of Biostatistical Techniques for Summarizing Evidence; Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis”.
This conference will offer an opportunity to discuss recent developments in Medical Statistics, Epidemiology,
Public Health, Genetics, Drug Research, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence, and related
areas.
On behalf of all the members of Indian Society for Medical Statistics and on my behalf, I thank the
administration of RIMS, Ranchi and the organizers for hosting the 39th Annual Conference of the Society.
I wish ISMSCON-2021 all the best for its success. I hope this event will be very pertinent and befitting to
the research and development goal of this country.
